GMU Blastmaster Battle
A downloadable game
Description
GMU Blastmaster Battle by Studio 410 is a colorful reimagining of the classic Bomberman formula with a healthy dose of GMU spirit. Play as one of four GMU-themed characters and blast your way to victory using a multitude of powerups over three beautiful stages!
Version 1.11 brings a bevy of changes, including (But not limited to):
- Gamemodes: The major gameplay change that's being implemented in v1.1 is the addition of optional gamemodes. They can do many things, from changing small stuff like what drops when to big things like starting a match with no blocks or even changing bomb types every couple seconds! They can be disabled in settings for the classic Blastmaster experience.
- Tutorials: We've completely overhauled the tutorial screen, replacing the wall of text with short, looping instructional videos introducing the bomb types, powerups, and general ways to play.
- Victory Screen Taunt: We thought the victory screen was passable, but ultimately pretty static. We've decided to come up with a system that has whichever character wins the game have a speech bubble pop up with a unique line of dialogue about how badly they trounced the other players!
- Win Tracking: For everyone doing those sick all-night Blastmaster LAN parties, the game now tracks who has won the most games with a nifty little crown floating above their character. Now you'll know exactly who to gang up on in the next match!
- Better Rematch: Before, the rematch screen needed a majority of players to rematch; now it just needs two.
- Bugfixes and Improvements: We've squashed some nasty bugs, from ones we've known about since the release of 1.0 to stuff we found just last week! I won't list them all here, but rest assured, Blastmaster Battle has never been bereft of bugs as much as it is now.

Controls
Though designed for an arcade cabinet, up to four players can play via keyboard or controller in local co-op or virtually through a third party such as Parsec.
Only XBOX or similar controllers are supported. Button 1 is A, button 2 is B. Back is the Start button.
Characters
The Patriot
Nobody knows who (or what) this mascot suit is. An engineering major's robotics project gone horribly wrong? A history major going for a minor in historical reenactment? A theater major who's just really into the character? No one can say for certain. What is certain, however, is that he's full of Patriot Pride (and explosives)- watch your back on the battlefield!
The Graduate
After mismanaging their class schedule and being left with only 11 credits in their last semester, the Graduate needed something to edge back up into full time enrollment. The only thing that happened to fit with their schedule was explosive arena combat, but hey, at least they get to blow off some steam. Don't let their stony exterior fool you; they're here to win.
The Professor
After studying abroad for over 10 years, the Professor has learned the way of the bomb like no other. A force to be feared in and outside the classroom, she'll not give an inch when tested in combat- but you better hope it doesn't come to that. As the resident champion, she's back again this semester to kick ass and take names- if you're late for class, that is.
The Centaurship
A prototype by Starship Technologies, the Centaurship is a radical new design created under the philosophy of "Deliver the food to the customer- AT ALL COSTS." The fact that it comes fully equipped with the highest quality bomb replication hardware on the market and a smoking hot upper body is just icing on the robotic cake. Remember, when it comes to Starship products, we blow the competition out of this world!
Powerups
Stat Ups
Fire Up- Increases the radius of your bomb explosions by one tile. Stackable.
Capacity Up- Increases the number of bombs you can have out at once. Stackable, caps at six.
Skates- Running away from explosions is cool! Increases your movement speed. Stackable and caps at 2.5x base speed.
Shield- That one didn't even hurt! Gives you a one-time immunity to bomb explosions. This one doesn't stack, so use it wisely!
Gloves- Someone slide a bomb at you or box you in? Just push 'em out of the way! Gives you the ability to push both friendly and enemy bombs- just walk into them. Mutually exclusive with Wings.
Wings- Walking is for suckers anyway. Gives you the ability to jump over bombs and players. If timed correctly, you can even avoid damage by jumping over an exploding bomb! Mutually exclusive with Gloves.
Bomb Types
All bomb types are mutually exclusive.
Lightning Bomb- This sneaky bomb looks just like a regular bomb, but explodes twice! Use it to skillfully trick your enemies- just watch out for that second blast.
Pierce Bomb- Blocks? What blocks? This durian-looking bomb will pierce through all destructible blocks to its maximum radius. Can get really crazy with Fire Up!
Slide Bomb- This slimy bomb slides in the last direction you moved until it hits something. Bowl it down a lane for a sick cross-map takeout!
Remote Bomb- Place a bomb with button 1 and detonate it manually with button 2! Works great with Capacity Up- make a wall of remote-controlled explosive terror!
